Blackfriars Asset Management is BNY Mellon's London-based investment boutique specialising in global and regional emerging markets equities, emerging markets debt and global fixed income & currency management.

Blackfriars Asset Management's investment philosophy across all asset classes encompasses a team-based approach following a structured and repeatable investment process with a strong emphasis on risk management. A blend of both fundamental and quantitative techniques are used to add value from both top-down and bottom-up analysis. Stock and instrument selection is based on fundamental in-house analysis driving a portfolio construction process which incorporates clear sell disciplines. An awareness of client requirements is central to its ability to deliver superior investment performance in line with client expectations, create new products to fulfil client needs and, above all, develop strong and trusting relationships built up over many years.

Blackfriars Asset Management was previously called WestLB Mellon Asset Management (UK) Limited when it formed part of the WestLB Mellon Asset Management joint venture. It became a wholly owned, independent investment boutique on 31 December 2008.
